Get to know the culture of Tyrol & neighbouring Bavaria during your holiday! The area offers a variety of interesting destinations for your family holiday in the Zugspitz region.

At 2,962 m, the Zugspitze is not only the highest mountain in Germany, but also of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena.

With the Zugspitzbahn you can reach the summit comfortably in only 10 minutes. On the panorama platform you can enjoy the view of 4 countries and 400 peaks. At the top station of the Zugspitze you will find a panorama restaurant with delicious delicacies and a breathtaking view, as well as a museum “Faszination Zugspitze” where you can learn a lot about the history of the mountain and several panorama terraces. On a clear day you can see the Großglockner, the Piz Bernina or the television tower in Munich.

Great events like the summit fondue, a breakfast at sunrise or the highest Oktoberfest – the Zugspitze Oktoberfest – are the absolute highlights.

The Zugspitze summit can be reached from the viewing platform via a fixed rope route. Surefootedness and climbing experience as well as good equipment are a must here!

Ehrwald lies directly at the foot of the Zugspitze and is the largest town in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena.

In winter, Ehrwald with its three ski areas – the Ehrwalder Alm, the ski area Wettersteinbahnen/Sonnenhanglifte and the Zugspitze with the Zugspitzplatt – is considered to be an extremely popular winter sports destination in Tyrol. Cross-country skiers appreciate the trails at the foot of the Zugspitze, but they also enjoy the valley. Winter in Ehrwald offers everything a holidaymaker’s heart desires: tobogganing evenings and hut evenings are a firm fixture, curling brings lots of fun, and a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride is an absolute must. In summer Ehrwald and the area around the Zugspitze becomes a paradise for mountain hikers, mountain bikers and all those who like to spend time in nature. In the new climbing hall or on the numerous via ferrata, mountain climbers seek the challenge. Mountain bikers enjoy the varied landscape and explore the routes of the region. Golf with a view is the motto in the Moos: on the 9-hole golf course you have the Zugspitze in view everywhere. Adventurous guests can choose between numerous trend sports such as paragliding, canyoning or stand up paddling.
